SmallTown is a free mobile app available on Android phones and Amazon Kindles. Spontaneous social networking features such as sharing your profile, browsing other profiles, request chats, chatting, exchanging contact information, searching profiles and marking profiles for encounter alerts are all free and available with just the mobile app. These features come to life in any enabling system such as a Wi-Fi location that allows devices to see each other. Internet access, through the proxy, is not required for SmallTown to operate.

SmallTown back-end greatly enhances the experience of SmallTown users and is available to owners of businesses or business locations. Features such as marketing services and promotions, sticky profiles, public safety or essential announcements, loyalty programs, raffles etc. are available through SmallTown back-end and is a paid service.
